Active Integrator - Files Gateway
Active Integrator - Files Gateway (AIFG) is a fast, reliable software engine that integrates files and MQ messages.
The basic function of the engine is to allow you to integrate older applications that transfer data using files into a current architecture utilising the market leading IBM WebSphere MQ messaging solution. Benefit from cost savings gained by extending the life of heritage systems whilst also enabling their use within your middleware environment.

Why would I need to use Active Integrator - Files Gateway (AIFG) in my business?
Fundamentally, AIFG enables you to use IBM’s WebSphere MQ product to link the applications in your organisation together.
80% of all messages worldwide are sent over MQ because it assures delivery of the message. Data will either arrive at its destination safely and intact, or you will be notified that it has been lost enabling you to resend lost data and ensure that all data reaches its destination.
AIFG offers the market’s most feature-rich solution for integrating files with IBM WebSphere MQ. Unlike many other tools, it c an be used:
- at either end of an MQ messaging link to provide assured file transfer over MQ
- to integrate files-based applications into an MQ architecture.
All the benefits of using MQ are now available to File Transfer.
Active Integrator is a single-ended application, in that it can en-queue a file as a message that will then be sent off to a completely different application.
Many solutions involving file transfer over MQ require that you run the solution at both ends - Active Integrator does not. As such it can be used either as a reliable file transfer mechanism, or as a file-to-message and message-to-file adapter allowing integration of legacy applications into an MQ enabled architecture.
