STG features in The Times (10/03/2009)
Strategic Thought is featured prominently in The Times Enterprise Risk & Continuity Planning supplement which can be viewed here. The supplement looks at all aspects of risk management today and how it now sits firmly on the board agenda.
STG CEO, Martin Metcalf opens and closes the lead article of the supplement which begins on the front page and continues onto page 3. This sets the definition of risk-reward and how it now encompasses - not just the management and mitigation of the potential negative impact of risk - but also the focus on making the most of opportunities by taking better informed risk. This applies in both private and public sectors.
STG is again featured in the article “Looking to the future” on Page 13. This looks at the how globalisation has increased stresses and volatility in supply chains driving the need for enterprise risk management solutions which can go beyond company boundaries. Metcalf discusses how spreadsheet and siloed solutions are no longer capable of meeting evolving governance, risk and compliance needs. This being especially true as increasing transparency is demanded by shareholders, non-executive directors, regulators, governments and citizens.
These issues will be debated in depth at an STG board-level breakfast briefing in London on April 30th – “Managing risk today – what every board member and non-executive director should know”. Click here to register your interest in attending.
