US Office Expansion (12/10/06)
Strategic Thought opens larger more prestigious office in the Washington DC area.
Strategic Thought Inc, provider of the world's most widely installed enterprise risk management software, announced today the opening of its new office in the Washington DC area on 18 October 2006. In less than two years the US subsidiary of UK technology and services company, Strategic Thought Group has outgrown its original office in Herndon, Virginia within the Greater Washington area. This is in response to the realized and planned aggressive growth in new customers, existing customers and the staff base to ensure continued growth and success.
The new office includes additional space for demonstrations of Active Risk Manager, the web-based enterprise risk management system and extensive meeting rooms for support and training facilities. Strategic Thought worked with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority to find the new location and favoured Fairfax County as it is minutes from Washington DC with access to domestic and international markets through Washington Dulles International Airport.
Karl Pringle, General Manager of Strategic Thought Inc said, "The last twelve months has seen the Active Risk Manager user base increase to over 14,000 with customers in over a quarter of US States as well as in Canada. The Washington DC office will act as a launch pad as the reach of Active Risk Manager continues to spread across North and South America."
The success of Active Risk Manager has been its ability to enable management to effectively deal with uncertainty and risk, issues and opportunities from a corporate, operational and project level, whilst enhancing the capacity to build value across the enterprise. The product is intuitive, easy-to-use and has seen dramatic growth in license sales to global customers such as NASA, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Nestle and the UK Ministry of Defence and other European organizations.
"Fairfax County is an ideal location for overseas companies that want to expand into the US market and Strategic Thought's expansion offers a good case study of an interesting technology company using Fairfax County to target customers here," said Gerald L Gordon, Ph.D. president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority.
Karl Pringle concluded, "In response to leading organizations wanting business value out of risk management rather than mere compliance to regulations such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act the demand for our enterprise risk management software has seen rapid growth. With our robust and proven product in addition to the largest deployment of users across multiple industries both public and private worldwide we are ideally positioned in Fairfax County to support existing customers and capture new opportunities."
"Over the coming months we will continue to target our traditional markets in addition to expanding new sectors such as finance, construction, transport, utilities and pharmaceutical."
