Simon Ricketts joins Board (19/07/05)
Strategic Thought Group Plc, the technology and service company has appointed Simon Ricketts as a non-executive director to its Board of Directors.
Simon Ricketts became one of the youngest ever directors of British Steel Plc having joined the company in 1980 as a graduate trainee. His final position within British Steel was as Executive Director and General Manager of Central Management Services, responsible for IT and operations. He left after ten years to join Cadbury Schweppes Plc in 1990 as Managing Director of its wholly owned outsourcing operation, ITNET. Under his direction ITNET was restructured and prepared for an MBO (management buy out) and subsequent floatation on The London Stock Exchange. Following further senior positions within Cadbury Schweppes he was appointed Chief Information Officer at Scottish and Newcastle Plc in 2003.
Until recently Simon Ricketts remained as a non-executive director of ITNET Plc and is currently a non-executive director of Barbox Ltd, a joint venture between Coors and Scottish and Newcastle.
Strategic Thought developed Active Risk Manager, an enterprise risk management software product, four years ago and has more than 40 clients including Lockheed Martin, NASA, Boeing and London Underground. The company has experienced exceptional growth and floated on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) a market operated by London Stock Exchange plc in July 2005. Simon Ricketts’ appointment was prior to the AIM placement.
