The day-to-day running of the business is the responsibility of the Executive Committee, made up of the directors of Strategic Thought Ltd, and key managers from the business.

Martin Metcalf: Chief Executive Officer

Martin has worked in the IT Industry since 1982 for organizations including Digital Equipment Corp and BT. In 2006, after 12 years at SAP AG, Martin left as Regional Managing Director, Nordics, UK, Ireland & Africa: he was responsible for operations in 12 countries, revenues of over $1bn and more than 1400 staff. Prior to that, he held various senior executive positions with SAP in sales, marketing and operations.

Andrew Darby: Chief Financial Officer

Andrew was at Misys plc as Business Unit Finance Director within the Banking Division. Andrew held several senior financial positions whilst at Misys, including Chief Financial Officer of Misys Risk Management Systems in California and European Financial Controller. His early career was at Generali SpA and English and American Group plc. Andrew qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand.

Mark Brown: Strategy Director

Mark joined Strategic Thought in April 2000 and was appointed as Chief Operations Officer in April 2001. Since qualifying as a chartered accountant in New Zealand, He has held management and consulting roles with a number of large organizations including Coopers & Lybrand and Lazard Brothers. Prior to joining Strategic thought Mark was General Manager for one of SunGard's European subsidiaries.

Chuck Hixson: President, Strategic Thought Inc.

Chuck has over 20 years experience in the technology industry having spent his career in sales and marketing in the IT industry. He has worked for companies such as IBM, BEA and Borland Software in California, and joins as President of Strategic Thought Inc from Indicative Software Inc where he was Vice President of Sales. Chuck has successfully grown sales teams to manage revenue streams in excess of $100m and covering territories worldwide.

Karl Pringle: Global Alliances Director

Karl is responsible for developing the complimentary products and services partnerships. These partnerships include the world’s leading management consultancies, independent software vendors, related software industries, risk organizations and influencing industry bodies. Prior to joining Strategic Thought Karl spent 4 years in multinational pharmaceutical sales and marketing. Karl was educated in Canada at the UBC and at the The Kellogg School of Management in Chicago.

Darren Thorpe: Development Director

Darren has returned to Strategic Thought as Development Director after an 18 month sabbatical during which time he gained his Commercial Pilot's Licence. He now has a frozen ATPL! Darren has BSc International Politics and Strategic Studies, and a MSc in Computer Science. He started his career at Ferrant Syseca before moving to BAe SEMA and then on to Strategic Thought where he was one of our leading Management Consultants.

Mike Steele: European Sales Director (Risk)

Mike Steele joined Strategic Thought from Oracle UK where he was Sales Manager in the International Accounts Sales Group.  Prior to that Mike spent ten years with Enterprise Resource Planning software vendor SAP UK where he had a very successful career in sales. As Sales Director for Active Risk Manager in Europe, Middle-East and Africa,  Mike is responsible for driving sales of Active Risk Manager at an enterprise level in existing and new markets for Strategic Thought.

Cyril Moreau: VP Global Services

Cyril Moreau joined Strategic Thought from Thompson Elite where he was International Client Services Director responsible for Europe, UK, Middle-East, Africa and Australia. Before Thompson he built rapidly growing consultancy services at Panacea, Niku Corporation and Datawatch Corporation. As VP Global Services, Cyril is responsible for  all STG service offerings, from our Risk and Business management consultancy, to our Banking and Retail Practices. 

Adrian Farley: HR and Talent Director

Adrian Farley has nearly 30 years experience in Human Resources having worked at both UK and Global businesses. Adrian joins us from SAP UK and SAP AG where he spent seven years in senior roles. Adrian is responsible for maintaining STG's focus on its high talent and high performing workforce.
